He lives in South Dakota, and competes in shooting matches nationwide. Winchester, Alive and Well? Winchester is gone? Well, not quite. By now most of us have heard that Winchester has gone out of business. They did announce that they were closing the USA plant, and they were not going to be making anymore Winchesters in the United States. I even heard that all of the employees walked-out last month. Well, here's the real skinny: Patrick Flanigan is shooting exhibitions for Winchester and he reports on his web site that Winchester will continue manufacturing the Super X 3 shotgun and the Super X rifle and some other shotguns will be imported. The famous model 70 Winchester rifle and the Winchester's 94 lever action's are done for. there will be no more. Click on Patrick's link below and read the entire story in the NEWS column. Be sure to click on the media gallery short clips and watch him bust 11 clay targets. That's a world record. Herb Parsons of Winchester held the record set in the 1950's with 9 targets until Tom Knapp of Benelli broke 10 a couple of years ago. This kid can really shoot.
